A Busy Year for Exhibitions

With Intershutz over for another 5 years, we still have DSEI, The Emergency Services Show and A+A to go!

Held every five years in Hannover, Germany, Interschutz is one of the worlds biggest fire and rescue shows, pulling in exhibitors and visitors from around the world. This years show featured 1,500 exhibitors and attracted 157,000 visitors (up 25% over the previous 2010 show).

Respirex and MFC Survival shared a 100m2 stand in one of the six halls, with a display that focussed on new and updated products. The open stand design drew in large numbers of visitors and the sales team were kept busy for several weeks with the unprecedented number of enquiries for both Respirex and MFC Survival equipment.

The show also marked the first public appearance of the new Jet-Ski Rescue Board from MFC and there were three prototype suits displayed on the German Industrial Fire Brigade stand to gauge industry reaction; Modified versions of the SC1 and SC4 in Chemprotex 300 and a new Air-Fed single use suit also in Chemprotex 300 - all of which generated a lot of interest.

During the remainder of 2015 Respirex and MFC Survival will be exhibiting at DSEI at London Excel and the Emergency Services Show at the NEC in Birmingham (both in September) and A+A 2015 in Dusseldorf in October. If your planning on going to any of these shows this year, we'd love to see you!

New Jet-Ski Rescue Board

This new rescue board from MFC Survival is designed for for a rapid response and rescue in coastal or surf zones and is attached to the back of a jet-ski by a towing 'D' ring and two shock cord 'D' rings at the front of the board. Fully inflatable the Rescue Board is quick to deploy, very lightweight and easily portable and has 10 grab handles built into it to make it easier for the casualty or rescue crew to hold onto the board whilst in action.

GTL Gas-tight suit shelf life
extended to seven years

Following the sucessful lauch of the Chemprotex™ 400 GTL Gas-Tight Suit in 2013, Respirex have continued with their testing of the suit and fabric and are now extending the service life of the GTL suit.

The revised service life is seven years mintenance free (up from five), with the ability to extend this up to ten years following a visual inspection and EN464 pressure test at the end of year seven.

Updated Chemprotex 300™
‘Blue Laminate’ Fabric

The Chemprotex™ 300 fabric (used in suits such as the Limited Life SC1) will be changing slightly, with a lighter ‘solid’ blue colour exterior and a white ‘fluffy’ interior.

The performance properties of the fabric are unchanged, but the white inner face creates a brighter, more pleasant atmosphere in suits with a visor such as the SC4 and new RJS suit. The first delivery of the new fabric arrived at Respirex earlier this year and is now being used in production garments.

Dielectric Boot Testing Machine Delivered

Our new testing machine for dielectric boots has just been installed in the Respirex boot factory in Reigate and is now operational. The machine will greatly increase the production capacity for dielectric boots (where testing has been a bottleneck) and will support our expansion into large volume markets such as the USA. The new machine also allows us to test to higher voltages and to offer DC testing of the first time.

video showing the new test machine in action is available here.
