Comfort

With no mask pressing against the face, the hood of a powered respirator is more comfortable and less sweaty for the wearer. The filtered air supplied to the hood has a cooling effect, helping the wearer to maintain focus. In suits with a permeable neck seal (PRPS and RJS) this air then passes over the upper body before exiting the suit, reducing heat stress and lowering the relative humidity in the suit, increasing wearer comfort.

A simple visual indicator in the hood, combined with an audible warning indicate any problems with the system (e.g. when batteries are running low or filters are becoming clogged) allowing wearers plenty of time to complete tasks and disrobe safely. Training is quick and easy.

The hood protects the wearers eyes, nose and mouth in a single garment that is simpler, quicker and safer to doff. It also allows a hard hat to be worn inside the hood if needed. Powered respirator suits build on these benefits with a single piece garment design with integral gloves and sock feet providing a completely sealed suit that is liquid tight, easy to decontaminate/disinfect and safe and easy to doff.
