Airprotex AF Case Study

Following problems with delivery lead times and poor communication from their current supplier, a large chemical in Germany approached us at the A+A trade show in Dusseldorf. They used air-fed chemically resistant suits in their production facility and urgently needed an alternative solution for a cost-effective single-use suit with a reusable air system.

After initial scoping discussions to determine their exact requirements, we proposed the Airprotex AF suit and AF-429 regulator, a type 2 single-use chemical suit made from Chemprotex™ 300. We arranged a product demonstration and training session and then provided sample suits for the customer to trail and evaluate. The lightweight, comfortable but robust design of the suit proved extremely popular with wearers during the trials, as did the excellent all-round vision provided by the visor design and the simplicity of the self-adjusting air system.

We then worked with their occupational safety department on their exact specification and the number of suits needed and put together a proposal for an initial purchase of both suits and air systems, planning their on-going requirements to tie in with our production lead times. To assist with wearer training we also produced a video on the safe donning and doffing of the suit to supplement the user instructions. After their initial delivery, we followed up with them to ensure that everything met their expectations and we continue to work with them to ensure that they have enough suits to meet their operational requirements.
